Home improvement

Why is it that home improvement projects always start small, then spiral out into a vortex of time and money?

It started as a simple project. The downstairs bathroom had a pedestal sink. It was wobbly when we moved in, and 5 years of kids leaning on it haven’t help any. We finally found a vanity and sink combo that would fit in the tight space. However, the 4′x6′ mirror above the sink is too low.

Our first idea was to shave the bottom of the vanity down so that the sink edge would fit under the mirror. After final measurements, we’d have to cut off 3/4″, which would probably ruin the vanity.

When we looked at the mirror mounting, chele noticed that one side was barely attached to the wall. So, off the wall the mirror came.

No full coverage!

Surprise! The wallpaper stopped right at the edge of the mirror. So now the wallpaper has to be replaced.

All stripped

chele has the walls stripped and painted with sizing, time to hang wallpaper tonight.

At least the toilet still works (knock wood).
